I started a new job last week as the Assistant Director of Student Services at the University of Washington’s Jackson School of International Studies. That means I’ve had three different full-time jobs in less than three years. It’s been a whirlwind, to say the least! Even for a job veteran like myself that’s had 35+ jobs, this employment schedule has been exhausting and has taken a toll on me.
Still, I don’t regret it.
I followed my intuition and my inner voice guided me through a rocky road with many ups and downs. Now, almost three years later, I’m looking back on all that’s happened and I’m kinda dazed. I look forward to writing more about it after I’ve had a lot more time to process and unpack the lessons I’ve learned.
As you can guess, this is why my blog posts for the last three years have been few and far between. I hope as I get settled into my new job, I will regain the energy and time to write more. I truly want this.
Another thing I truly want is to get back into teaching. That said, I’m thrilled to be speaking about Rebel Millionaire at my friend Jenny’s (aka. Jenny Girl Friday, an amazing business consultant and author) Book$ Club tomorrow, May 6, at 6 PM. Here’s Jenny’s description of the event.
Book$ Club Special Guest on May 6: Peg Cheng!!!!
Peg is the author of Rebel Millionaire – the sweet, slim, potent little book that changed my life in 20-ish minutes. And my kids’ lives too. (After the 3 of us sat down to read it, we were all instantly committed to investing in our retirement! I got back to the habit, and both my kids opened their IRAs within a week.) Peg is a gorgeous writer and runs Plaid Frog Press, among other jobs and projects. She lives in Ballard, and I’m lucky to call her my friend. She’s coming by Book$ Club to share copies of Rebel Millionaire (everyone that attends will receive a free copy), to help us with an important part of being self-employed ~ retirement, and how to “get rich on your own terms.”
Peg Cheng, author of Rebel Millionaire

Sorry this is last minute, but if any of you would like to hear the story behind Rebel Millionaire and learn more about how to save for retirement even when making a modest income, come out! I’d love to see you. And if you’re self-employed, I think you will love Jenny’s Book$ Club, a monthly co-working event with snacks, drinks, music, a chill vibe, and time to work on your business and bookkeeping with fellow entrepreneurs.
To all my readers–new and old–thank you so much for hanging in there with me during this challenging time. I look forward to connecting with you more!
Peg Cheng is the author of Noodle Taco, a Taiwanese-Mexican-American culinary adventure, Rebel Millionaire, a guide for how to retire as a millionaire even if you make a modest income, and The Contenders, a novel that asks, can enemies become friends?
